Are we manufacturing our eventual doom?

Image result for artificial intelligenceMost of us think of robots in one of two ways, either intimidating killing machines ripped straight out of terminator or friendly little helpers that aid us in any aspect of our daily lives, in a way both can be true, but when you have Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates and Elon Musk all pushing for limitation on AI advancements  you have to stop and think if we are building and developing our end.

To be more specific we are not talking about terminators, well kind of, you see the actual villain in all the terminator movies is Skynet, the artificial intelligence that decided humans are a threat to its existence and wiped us out, strictly speaking, we are not there yet but we are advancing towards it, you see the world's top humans think that AI is a risk and when you stop to think about it, Skynet is getting closer to jumping from fiction to reality, earlier this year some scientists created two robots who started to talk in what looked like utter gibberish, however, it turns out that the robots decided that english is not efficent and they created thier own language, ofcourse the scientists shut them down, but I am sure everyone had a tingle in their spine when they heard this, moreover a robot was qouted as saying that it would put humans in a "people zoo".

After letting the last part sink it I must move on to something even more terrifying, you see there is something called the "Technological Singularity", it is speculated to occur around 2045,  it pretty much states that at the point that we create artificial intellgince we will start improving our technology in an extremely short amount of time, on the surface this seems harmless enough, however ponder this, when we create a robot who is as smart as a human it would take mere hours for it to  create a robot that is thousands even million of times smarter than us humans, to add insult to injury if that robot came to the conclusion that we are a threat to its existence it would hatch an elaborate plan to kill us all, and since it is much smarter than us we would not know what hit us till the last human takes his last breath
