Ever since the first battlefront on the next gen systems Gamers all around the world have been begging for an improvement, now almost a year later we have a sequel, while battlefront 2 is an improvement in many ways, it struck many holes as it was launched.
Battlefront 2 was meant to be our saving grace, as we were so hyped up by the fancy trailers and the promise of an actual single player experience, unfortunately it looks like it has fallen to the dark side and EA, it looks like the allure of micro transactions was just too powerful for the game to resist, many people have said that these can be simply ignored, and that players can simply grind the game to get the same loot, which is true to some extent, that is if you have about 4000 hours laying around; it would seems as if i am joking but it is entirely true as some calculations have shown that it would take nearly 4k hours to earn all the loot in the game however you can take a shortcut through micro transactions and EA knows that most people would rather pay than waste time, and it is true, most games which have micro dlc get way more revenue and money so of coarse they would implement them in this game and to be honest this is expected from EA, and it is a big turn off for many Gamers, however the game play itself is quite enjoyable, dice have improved the gun play a whole lot since the first game, however it is to be noted that the kills do not give you a sense of impact, no thump when you hit an enemy, which to me kind of lessens my enjoyment, this is not the case for many people so it could be a personal issue,
it is to be noted that they have taken a stance on the loot boxes, for now at least they have removed them from the game, however i do not think this will last for long as in the upcoming months they will find a way to put them back in, now one of the biggest improvements is the introduction of the class system, and it would have been really good for enjoyment and customization, however the UI is not user friendly at all and it is extremely hard to figure out where you are in progression, some would argue that the highly anticipted single player would save the game, but they somehow messed it up too, on normal the campaign can be beaten in 4 hours....., and an experienced gamer could finish it earlier, the story itself isn't entertaining too as it takes huge leaps in logic to fit this new character in the star wars canon.
Hopefully EA learns from their mistakes and they improve the inevitable Battlefront 3 as they want to turn this franchise into an annul one just like Call of Duty, which is really sad.
