As I have established in yesterday's blog 2017 was a great year for horror lovers, and thankfully that trend will not lose steam in 2018, as this year has a lot of surprises up its sleeve, and some were quite frankly unexpected, but nonetheless, they are appreciated.
I was never a big fan of the Insidious franchise, but the last movie captured my interest with its last moment cliffhanger with the red devil and the other demon that was mistakenly released years prior by Elise, and I was intreguied and on the edge of my seat; The latest iteration promises to explore Elise's backstory as she goes back to her childhood house where she grew up, she returns because the current residents complain of ghosts in the house, now that she is back she must confront the skeletons that she had in her closet.
Strangely enough, this horror classic sequel is being directed by Danny Mcbride, despite him being comedy-centric he has promised that he will do the film justice, and return the series to the glory and gloom of the original, and I hope he does, as I have been a fan of Leatherface for some time; The movie picks up with Laurie and her daughter who have been haunted by Mike Myers for four decades ever since his last bloodlust on Halloween night, moreover the movie promises that this would be their last confrontation, and I guess it seems fair because they have aged quite a bit, and if this film turns out well it will be an honorable send off for our beloved leatherface.
When i first heard that a Venom spinoff movie was in the making I was quite excited for it, as Venom is arguably one of Spider-Man's most interesting villains, so he has great potential for cenamatic success, however, i was perplexed to learn that it will be a horror movie, after my initial shock I started thinking of it logically, with Marvel making such great movies with a great track record they might actaully pull this off, and it is time for Venom to be done justice, after that horrendous version in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, and Venom, if done correctly can be absolutely terrifying.
Thanks for reading! A share would be extremely helpful, and remember to subscribe ( It's Free!), and as always remember to be cynical.
